AN OPEN LETTER TO THE SOMALI FEDERAL GOVERNMENT:

Subject: accountability under the law.

The Somali federal government should introduce travel ban law, issue arrest warrant, sanction or fine on suspects involved criminal activities such as treason, illegal import, export, including charcoal export, expired food, beverage or drug import, tax evasion, corruption, human trafficking and any similar action that threaten to the internal security and well-being of our nation.

The government must have to monitor individual and institutional behaviour, identify and deal with the most pressing risks to our state economic and political stability, protection of the natural environment, deforestation and put in place the ways and means to address them. All federal member states and the private business sector related an above said law-breaking offence must equally accountable under the law and arrest for their wrongdoing.

We think acting against any corrupt anti-establishment individual or group who undermine our constitutional institutions or protecting our national interest is absolutely necessary and justified. Therefore the federal government must fulfil its legitimate national obligation.

We appreciate your bravery and tireless effort to rebuild this broken nation and restoring the hope of Somali people once again. So far you have taken many positive steps, yet there is a lot of work need to be done.

Finally, we believe accountability, the rule of law and good governance must put the government’s top priorities at all time and in any cost.

hopefully you would be able to absorb and digest our genuine patriotic advice this critical time.

Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

Yusuf Duale,
RJA Chairman
