Somalia: FAHRO condemn a Domestic Violence decisions against young women’s
in “Belet-Haawo” Distract in Gedo region in Somalia.

Boston MA, December 13, 2017.

The Fanole Human Rights & Development Organization (FAHRO) strongly
Condemns continues violations against Young Generations in Somalia
particularly in Gedo Region of Jubbaland in Somalia.

The Local District Court known “Belet-Haawo” announces unacceptable
decision against Young Generations about a total Wedding expenses and
Marriage success maximum $ 600 US dollars in Gedo Region Somalia.

The marriage couples don’t have juice to take dictions for their marriage
expenses.

“We condemn a domestic violence decisions against young women’s and call
to “Belet-Haawo” Distract of Jubbaland administration in Somalia to
accepted and respect all of the 155 recommendations resulting from the
Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process.” said Ali Egal, “Ali Baashi” The
CEO and Chairman of (FAHRO).

Fanole Center calls International Community to encourage to the Jubbaland
Administration to ratify, amongst others, the Convention on the
Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).
